Winlink Operator Instructions
The form has four sections: Header (event, operator, etc.), Bib Data Entry (bib, time, actions), Bib Log Viewer (view/export data), and Message Log (track exports).
Use High Contrast Mode for sunlight.
Enter Operator Name and Send To (e.g., YOUR EMAIL OR NET CONTROL/HQ EMAIL) first. Use Tab to navigate, Space/Enter for buttons. Import Bib List to load race director CSV, CHECK TO SEE THAT THE BIB LIST HAS BEEN IMPORTED ALREADY FIRST, (Bib,First Name,Last Name,Age,Gender,Distance); this populates the Distance column in the Bib Info and Bib Log tables. Enter bib number to see runner info in a table below the input; backspace to clear.
Use bib number to search runner info (e.g., Bib #10 shows name, age, distance). Add entries for IN/OUT/DNF/NOTE (bib optional for NOTE).
All actions (IN, OUT, DNF, NOTE, GENERAL) are exported as shown in the Bib Log. If TVEMC Net requires 'DROP' instead of 'DNF', please notify the developer. Use Change Distance to update runner’s distance (e.g., 30K, 200 mile); it preserves Operator Name, Send To, Aid Station, Fast Tab Mode, and other fields, returning cursor to Bib Number without scrolling to top.
Previous Distance tracks what it changed from. Use General Comment for aid station notes (e.g., low supplies, no bib).
Fast Tab Mode skips time/yesterday. Time auto-sets to current time. All entries include operator name. Edit entries via 'Edit' button in Bib Log; cancel with 'Cancel Edit'. Newest entries/messages appear at top of tables. Search Bib Log by typing in the search bar (bib, action, etc.).
Sort tables by clicking column headers (e.g., Bib #, Time). Reset to newest-first order with the Reset to Newest button.
Export CSV or Copy for Winlink includes only entries for the current Message #. Use the Increment button to move to the next Message # after sending the message.
Message Log tracks exports/copies with details of only the sent entries.
Import CSV to load other stations’ data. Save Data manually saves all entries, bib list, and message log to the browser with a confirmation popup; Load Data restores the last manually saved state. Data auto-saves silently on actions (e.g., adding entries, exporting) and loads on page refresh.
Clear Bib Log requires typing 'CLEAR' to confirm and clears all current data (entries, bib list, message log) but preserves previously saved data in the browser for restoration with Load Data. Check comments for typos. Serve via a server (e.g., python3 -m http.server 8000) for mobile access (Android Chrome, iPhone Safari).
